Spitfire: a space femme fantasia is a play-thing about a group of female pilots who were secretly tested for astronaut training by a military doctor working with NASA in 1960. A historical story juxtaposed and interspersed with scenes from a contemporary, fictional story about Polly, a space-obsessed teenage girl and a queer romance that goes wrong. The whole thing ends in this queer futurity/utopian rock concert in zero gravity.”
